has anyone ever read the story in the bible about the isrealites when they fled from egypt just to wander in the wilderness for many years. it is foune in exodus 14.somedays recovery for me feels like wandering in the wilderness. i stryggle to find the way. the path seems to be covered with a tangle of bushes and thorns. i am not sure what lies ahead. like the author in these verses, i sometimes want to go back. i convince myself that it really wasn't that bad back in my "egypt" yes i am killing myself with my eating disorder, but know i think i could control things if i went back or stay where i am at. i hate having to face the unknown. my faith is weak. the pain of recovery is overwhelming, and anything would be better than the way i feel right now. they say recovery symbolizes moving forward. this path is never clear. there are unknow hazards upahead, but i know what lies behind me and i don't like it either. i really need help to get a grip on my eating. i want out of egypt. as hard as it is going to be i need to start moving forward.

you can soooooooo do this. it\'s gonna get hard before it gets better but your a strong person for going this long, you cn do this beleive in yourself good luck hugsxxxxxxxx
To move forward take small steps, easy steps, mayby take one week at a time, one day at a time also have small goals. Where are you going or what would you like to achieve? Then set out towards it each week. It is hard in the beginning, the hardest part is starting. My Eating disorder I feel was the hardest thing for me, it was horrible. I struggled every day for a while but as I found other things to focus on, things that I wanted to achieve which needed me to be healthy to have a chance of acheiving them, I slowly became stronger and healthier in my mind and body and I havnt looked back. Each person is different, each journey is different but what remains the same is the person calling the shots. We can change our direction, we can learn to love and nuture ourselfs. Even if it does not last we have experienced what it is like to be on the other side and I bet when your there you will not want to leave and evn if you do, well it is your choice to do so. Take care, sending you much love and strength.
Yes the big question \"Should I stay or should I go\" You\'re gathering so much momentum that I can\'t see you staying in Egypt. You\'ll make it. You\'re reaching out, and on your way. Don\'t try to shut the door that won\'t close, though. You\'ll need to leave it cracked so you can see how serious your ED is. You may even have to go back in sometimes. Eventually you\'ll come out the other side, I have faith in you
Take one day at a time. \"Today\'s troubles are enough for themselves\". Also in the Lord\'s prayer Jesus says \"Give us our DAILY bread\". He doesn\'t say \"Give me the whole loaf\". What this means to me is just focus on today. Forget about the past and the future. If one day is too much to get through, then just focus on 1 hour at a time. I will pray for your recovery. Carol
