Ugh
So today during lunch I was reading the recent issue of Health Magazine, and there was an article called something about 'What to put on your "Don't-Do" list today' and one of them was exercise. It said if you're not feeling well then you should be in bed resting and getting well, not pushing yourself. Well, I've not been feeling well for the last few days fighting a cold, but thought I felt well enough to give it a try tonight. I came home, threw on my iPod, got my week 6 of Couch to 5k podcast fired up and took off for my 3 mile walk/run. I was supposed to walk 5 mins to warm up, run 5 mins, walk 3 mins, run 8 mins, walk 3 mins, run 5 mins, walk 5 mins to cool down.
Bottom line is I ended up walking most of the way. About 4 mins into my first 5 min run I just completely pooped out and went back to walking. Then when it was time to do my 8 min run I started running and made it about 2 minutes before giving up on that, and back to walking. Another 5 mins or so walking and ran for another couple of minutes and walked the rest of the way back home. I made it 3.02 miles in 41 minutes. Not bad, but not great.
From my SportyPal app on my phone:
Workout Stats
running 3.02 mi in 00:41:14
Average speed: 4.39 mph Calories: 378
Very disappointed that I didn't make it through my runs, but will keep repeating this session of C25k until I complete it and stop beating myself up. Fact remains that I did it and finished it.
