I am off all meds today, the first time in 4 years. I will be switching to Tysabri in two weeks, plus I will start Aricept in place of the Namenda in 10 days. I may return to the Namenda plus the Aricept if I need both. The are both Alzheimers meds and they help with the memory loss I have experienced. They work in different ways so both combined may help more, we'll see. I need help with my memory deficits, I have started forgetting who people are around me. I forget neighbors and even family members, although I retain a sense that they are familiar to me, I can't remember their names or how I may know them. I chose the Tysabri over going on the Novantrone and Copaxone. The Tysabri may not work well for me since I am no longer RRMS but Secondary Progressive, but there isn't enough study data to show a correlation. All I can do is hope for the best now. I will be participating in 2 studies at the hospital, one on memory and medication and the other is for a vacination to prevent MS using a variance of Tysabri. I hope that it will prove to be successful. I'm feeling wiped out this morning from not having my meds, hopefully that will pass soon. To all my friends, have a fantastic day!

Ahh hopefully the switch and your particiation in the study will turn out to be a blessing. Sorry to hear you are having a rough go .( the only thiong we can do when life sends a curvebal is keep our eyes open / our chins up / and our glove ready. Can you tell I was watching baseball last night? hehe.
Good Luck to you on the Tysabri, I will pray that it will give you relief and I will definitely watch you as your progress on this therapy as I too have Secondary PPMS and My Dr refused the Tysabri for me...It is hard going off any therapy, expect there to be some lulls, even I with not having the chemo done, can see a difference especially in the fatigue area. Good for you on the studies and clinicals, that is great news. Since my Hubby Richard may be dx with Alzheimers, It it interesting to read up on these drugs. He is having all his brain work up on Wed, or it could have been a stroke...We have to wait and see. All your imput is appreciated...Take care and feel better. Hugs and Love
I pray all goes well...you deserve a break...keep us posted! Huggles
