I've had the worst flare the last 2 weeks.  Couldn't get out or even think correctly.  It all started with an upper respiratory infection and as the antibiotics cleared that up my MS took a scary turn down.  Man I hate this stuff, but I am SOOOO GLAD to be feeling good again.  I had to really dig down deep to find the will in me to get my butt out of the bed and get moving today.  I forced myself to the gym for a workout, which went good.  I ran into a guy there that said he knew me from the hospital, that we had worked together at Carolinas Medical but I only had a vague recollection of ever having known him.  I felt bad because he described things that we had done but I just couldn't remember.  The area of my brain involving memory has really been devasted and that stinks. Well, all I can do is keep moving onward and upward!  There is no time for thinking about "what if", I have too much life yet to live and I cannot waste it feeling sorry for myself. Mo left for a trip to NY on Monday with her dad, they're going skiing.  She felt like she wanted to have another time to get out with him before he gets too much older and cant go ski.  He is 70 years old and he can still cut some great turns down the mountain but he has started to slow down a bit.  I think they are skiing  Belleayre and Hunter mountains.  It looks like they got a foot of snow there today so it should be great conditions! Big hugs to all of my friends!  Hope you are all doing well! Peace.....................David

Hang in there - MS SUCKS and causes so many problems. I hope Mo is safe skiing. I hate snow so skiing was never my thing. I was the type that stayed inside and drank whatever by the fire.

it must feel scary to go thru memory probs, is there a chance that you gain some back when the lesion is not active? perhaps when the flare ends, and any inflammation settles? i ran into a dermatologist recently, who i apparently worked near at the Garvan research institute. i used to cut off mice tails in the animal lab every now and then and he apparently only noticed me because i would glam up the white uniform with as much colour as possible. sometimes people notice us when we don\'t notice them, especially if we refuse to conform!

I hope it improves for you soon! I think it\'s great that you have an \"onward\" spirit, despite feeling so crappy! :)

I am so glad you are feeling better. That respiratory infection is going around and it\'s really, really nasty. Our new grandbaby, 5 weeks old, got it and was in the hospital for a week. You take it slow in returning to civilization.
Our daughter is on her way and she and hubby plan to ski tomorrow. It\'s snowing and like Mo, the conditions should be fantastic.
Be well and keep your spirits high, Marti

I know all about that upper respiratory, the first thing the Dr. asked me was \"How did you get here\" I sprouted wings and I flew, how do you think I got here I drove myself. You think he charged me for that stupid question?

Mo called. She said they had fun skiing, no one broke any bones. There was about a foot of new snow now, but driving was OK. One more day of skiing tomorrow and then back home. I miss Mo!

Groovy, Dave, I\'m glad you\'re rebounding. Well, at least Mo\'s having a good time. Next time, it\'s your turn to take a vacation and go to Aruba. Peace and blessings.

Hi Dave, I know what you mean about the connective problems, but you got the right idea, don\'t dwell on it, it is just part of our MS. Glad to hear you are feeling much better and made it to the gym. Sounds like Mo cares very deeply about her Dad, that is so great. Good to hear they are doing fine. Take Care and Hang in there. LOL

Mo got the idea for this trip after the death of her cousin a few months ago. They were the same age and Mo started realizing that life is fragile and short and she needed to spend some quality time with her dad.

Mo is a smart lady! I should do the same. My father is 75 yrs old. If I\'m going to spend time with him, I better do it soon. Anyhow, I\'m sorry you got sick and it made the ms rear it\'s ugly head. I\'m glad that you are up and about again. I hope you continue to feel better. Take care of yourself, Holly
