Hey all!  Still really tired today, the energy level is not there.  I am taking a break from doing much today in hopes that I will re-energize  and by tomorrow will be back to peak levels again.  Just an update on current MS symptoms.  Still mostly blind in my left eye.  Thats been the longest lasting and most persistant problem.  I knocked a gash across my nose Saturday because I couldn't see a door coming at me from the left and it cracked me right in the face.Left arm and right leg still numb and weak.  These are the second longest lived problems.  I'm just forcing myself to live with this.  Foot drop causes me to stumble often.  No treadmill, only eliptical machine for cardio.Very difficult to talk and carry on a conversation with someone.  My brain tries to scan for the words I'm wanting to say but can't keep up.  I therefore appear to be very slow and uncertain when I'm around others.  My voice has change also and I slurr my speach as if I'm intoxicated all the time. (don't I wish)  My memory is that of a 90 year old man.  I'm constantly lost and I don't go anywhere new by myself.  The few places I am familiar with now are the grocery store, library, post office, my home and the gym.  I travel with friends or family if I go anywhere else.  I don't drive by myself or go on unfamiliar routes.  I forget my meds even with help.  I take 2 doses of Namenda (an Alzheimers medication) per day.  It has help stabalize the memory loss, but it still progresses. My emotions are all over the place.  Welbutrin has helped some.  Cognitive functioning is horrible.  Things that I did before are impossible.  I am slow at doing anything, so most tasks have been turned over to my wife. (sorry Mo)  I cannot learn new tasks because I will forget them within seconds.  Things that were old routines for me I still have a handle on.  I feel like I'm stuck in the 70's and 80's.  Music from that time I listen to but cannot seem to be able to learn to enjoy anything new.  Everything seems unfamiliar and frightening to me.  I panic often when presented with something new and challenging.  I feel like everything is closing in around me and my world just gets smaller and smaller.I'm tired but the exhaustion hasn't been that bad lately.  I force myself to press on through this.  Being tired will not stop me.Everything else is fine.  My health is excellent.  I'm strong as an ox.  I love my family.  I'm comfortable.MS SUCKS!  I will get through this and I will beat this monster!

I\'m right there with you. Even though I know my 92 year old grammy forgets things often, I am no better than she is.
My 2nd cousin wrote in my Christmas card that MS stinks...and I thought that was the best way to descibe it.

I\'m there with you also. These types of set backs really sucks. Have you tried the iv\'s solumedrol?

Solumedrol once a month. I have to be very careful after the infusion because of the chance of my BP skyrocketing. Have been to the ER twice due to this happening. Doc says that maybe I should be on Tysabri instead of Betaseron. Flares have come on fairly rapidly over the last 2 years.
