It was bizarre on the way home from the hockey game Saturday night. It was around midnight on the expressway when we saw a line of police cars, blue lights on, heading into downtown. Then from behind us, 12 police cars came flying by heading out of town. A few moments later, 4 more police cars heading toward the east side. Mo was scared about what this all meant. When we got home the TV reports were on that 2 police officers had been ambushed and another attempted ambush had occured not far away from the first attack. Sunday morning they reported that the 2 police officers were dead, shot in the head from behind. Apparently, this was in retaliation for some arrests on gang members Friday. One of the officers had a wife and 2 year old. The wife was 7 months pregnant with the second child. I am crying huge tears of sorrow right now as I type this. I am sorry, this just has struck me very hard. I have many friends in the department and I am always afraid for them.

I want to ask all who read this to pray very hard for these families and all the friends and coworkers of these officers. They do a tremendous job for all of us, they put their lives on the line every time they go to work. Sometimes they pay the ultimate sacrifice to assure the rest of us that we will be safe. God bless.
