not a stroke.  recurring UTI.
Seems that each setback knocks him back farther.  Mom finally decided to give the ok to "do not resuscitate."  For the longest time she couldn't bear to do it - but then Janie revealed a conversation Dad had with her maybe 20 years ago, saying that he would not want to be revived.
There's no doubt that Janie remembers the conversation accurately.  She has an extraordinary memory for such things.  Odd thing was, since Dad didn't tell her to tell anyone, she kept it to herself all this time.
I'm not psychic, couldn't say how Dad is going to come through this or if he will.  His condition is stable, but all kinds of things could happen - and he could go quickly, or it could be slow.  His birthday is in March.  I'm not optimistic that he will see 92.  Meanwhile it's the constant yo-yo-ing of emotions that correspond to his ever-changing health status.
