Okay, so the last journal entry is a bit cryptic.  Bill Staines (do an internet search) is one of my favorite New England folk singers, he's been writing songs and singing around the US for about 35 years.  I've used several of his songs at school, most notably "River."  We sang it as a whole school after Ellen, our principal, died.  Something about that song was very healing for us as a community - and I had a chance to personally thank Bill for his song and what it meant to us. Plus I got to be a total groupie and now have a poster with his autograph, signed to my kids at school!  They will be psyched (an actual live musician)! The husbear has the day off today, so we're going out for lunch and a movie.  Woo hoo!  Life is good!  Gym trip afterwards, wish I could persuade him to come with.  Shoulders yesterday, so I think abs and calves today, too soon for either back or chest (otherwise my joints don't recover fast enough).  Some cardio after. At some point this week I'm going to have to go in to my classroom.  I HATE it when the glass-half-empty people moan "summer's over."  No, it's NOT!!!!  I'm still decompressing from the last academic year - it was one of the most trying I've had in several years.  I'll be fine when it's time to start up again, but right now, I'm still on my break.  It's still SUMMER!!!!  (glass half full, glass half full, glass half full...) LATER THE SAME DAY We saw The Dark Knight at our local iMax theater.  Wooooooooo.  It was intense - glad it wan't rated higher than PG-13 or I wouldn't have been able to keep my eyes open.  Parts of it truly made me squirm, loved the action sequences.  Fun time.  Don't want to give anything away if you haven't seen it, but wow - great flick.  We were speculating afterwards about the darkness of Heath Ledger's character and if the role influenced his suicide in any way. Afterwards we went to Ben and Jerry's... and I ate a LARGE Phish Food.  It was yummy, but it means my diet goals are probably off by a week now (yeah, takes me a while to metabolize when I go off the menu).  Back on track the meal after though. Still some sun when we left the theater, so we went for a walk in Garden in the Woods, conservation land near here.  Great exhibit called Big Bugs in the Garden until Halloween, three pics in my photo list.  Check 'em out! Thunder booming throughout our entire little waddle there - we got home just before the downpour let loose!

Ah yes, I googled Mr. Staines (I found him in Wikipedia consorting with Mr. Clean)It\'s nice that you have something for the classroom wall in Sept.
I totally appreciate your need to decompress- I used to think I was the only one who felt that way- you really wish you could have another six weeks to get your system emotionally reset. Make sure you spend quality time with hubby. That should help, especially if you can weave a few into the school year. Then it won\'t be like you\'re having to give so much up.
