oh gawd. can't sleep. haunted by the 5th grade angst I don't know how to cure, wonder if I'll be able to help them be less miserable before the year ends. not enough exercise this weekend, really feeling it at the moment because I can't go to sleep. all that energy spinning around in my brain, feeling tortured by everything I can't solve. feel old, inadequate. knee still hurts. diet out of whack. 16 years to retirement and I am thinking I wish I could this year... do I have the emotional stamina to do this 16 more years? and if not, then what the **** do I do for a career, and how do I make that switch... and how do I catch up on the back taxes, while I'm at it. my whole life needs an overhaul. why oh why can't I let it all go tonight so I can go to sleep?

heh... except that JD (or any other alcohol) doesn\'t work for me, even mild doses give me a headache. Sominex, Valium, a coma?
Thanks for the comment! I\'m hoping that putting it on the page means I don\'t have to take it all back to the pillow.
hugs back!
Ah yes, you\'re having a bad case of the \"what-ifs.\" I know this too well... so hard to shut the brain off! First know you don\'t have to do all 16 years in one night! Pace yourself. (or you\'ll be pacing all night!)
Oh how things circle in the early hours getting bigger with each revolution. Hope you slept.
take some Benadryl to help you sleep. works for me :P
The true mark of a real thinker! I hate those kind of nights...Hopefully as I am writing this you are finally asleep... Two recommendations: Breathe! Really, don\'t forget to breathe...big deep breaths...Next, visualization. Picture someone/something that brings you comfort and calm. Then meditate on that image...best to you
Thanks all - after typing it I really was able to leave it on the page and not take it to the pillow! Appreciate all the good advice too - again thanks!
It\'s never too late to change anything you feel dissatisfied with. Think of those 90 year old grannies who get their college degrees. Oh, for sleep in the future, have you ever tried melatonin? It works well for me on bad nights.
