So, will I do this again?Yes.I might, however, not do it again next year, but two years from now. I'd like to have a bigger stage presence, if you know what I mean! Two years also seems like a reasonable amount of time to add a decent amount of muscle mass and to work out the posing/balance problems. What have I learned?• Posing is a greater endurance event than I realized. Three categories is a lot to enter.• I do have the discipline to maintain the rigid diet, I do better when I structure it enough in advance so I don't have to think about it during the course of the day.• Dream Tan. Better product.• Don't schedule pictures for the day or two after the contest. Had to cancel a session because of my piebald appearance. With all the various tanning products I've had to use, they haven't all come off at once. I have more shades, colors, patches, spots now than our cat!• Preparation H. Apparently some guys use it as a skin-tightener/moisturizer before hitting the tanning booth. (I don't know if I want to try out that one!)• Never do one of these during the school year. The last week is difficult, can't be that low-energy and cranky on my job.Questions I still have:• I met a guy who did a contest and ran a marathon the next day. I want to know how he did that - and if my metabolism/genes would allow me to build muscle and do distance bicycle rides without interfering with each other. I had to sacrifice cycling this summer to do the contest.• How much muscle can I realistically expect to add between now and age 50 (that's two years)? What should I set as my goal?• There has to be a way to avoid waxing. It was probably the least pleasant part of this whole process. When the color finally fades off I want to try a shave-down and then use only Dream Tan to see if that gets me dark enough for the stage.
