Haven't finished writing about the family funeral, finding I feel reluctant to relive the next 24 hours of that story, but it will eventually find its way here.Meanwhile, I'm 8 days from the contest. Nervous. Tired. Excited. 139 @ 6% bodyfat (I was 163 @ 21% bodyfat when I agreed to do this). Waxed - oh LORDY, I was fine when he waxed off the arm hair, the leg hair, even the "sensitive" areas, but good gracious, whenever he started pulling the hair off my chest and belly - let's just say it brought tears to my eyes. He gave me a towel to bite. Longest three hours of my life (yes, I'm THAT hairy). Two days later the skin has finally appeared to have forgiven me On the bright side, I don't have to shave my body hair any more. Hubby is looking forward to seeing it fully grown back, which I estimate will be sometime around October. Today I do abs and calves on my own, then to the tanning booth. Also going to have a spray-on tan applied today to see what that process is like and to determine how many coats I'm going need in order to be dark enough for the stage (if skin color is too light all the muscle detail gets washed out under the bright stage lights). My own natural skin color is just a shade darker than death pallor, so I kinda think to make me brown enough they're going to have to dip me in house paint. Woulda tried it yesterday, but it was raining. Apparently it streaks if you get it wet or sweat too soon after application - they said just the trip to my car in the rain would make me look like a cheetah.Charming. One final heavy workout tomorrow, then we are on the 7-day countdown/depletion phase before the show. After all the talking I've done about it, yes, I'll post pictures, no matter what they look like. Dunno if I've got a good "before" pic anywhere, I'll have to hunt. Also looking forward to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows arriving at my door tomorrow. Yes, big Potter fan here, geeky, I know, but hey, that's how it is. I'll have something to read while waiting for the tan to dry. Okay - off to the gym!

You are a riot! I\'ve been waxing for so many years now that it no longer causes me to hit A over C and the hair becomes less and less. You have the bug now my dear, so don\'t think this is your last wax job! As far as the spray on tans go, they can look harsh under the light and if you don\'t turn (hopefully your place has an all over sprayer!) then you look rather multi-cultural. I did that once, half done..........it was not a good look. Bodybuilding.com has some great tanning products if you haven\'t found a good one yet. I\'m rooting for you Fiddler! I know you\'re going to do a great job and have a lot of fun too! After the show, eat your favorite foods and don\'t hold back, you\'ve earned it!!
Thanks Lin!
I\'m sorry you had to go through waxing...I hate it. I get the spray tan for my dance competition, and it looks amazing, but it comes off unevenly and looks weird, not to mention it made my fingernails orange!
