DNR

only problem is my feet both and now both legs.  Went to Nursing home to take mom a closet and while I am there they brought a paper they said I needed to sign. The admin had called a couple weeks ago and said I needed to sign a second paper like I had. Few weeks ago. Being busy I took the paper and just started to sign in noticed it different...so Iread it it was a FREAKING DNR for mom...
pi got very upset and said have you watch your child die twice and of course they hadn't. I said how dare you just because mom is close to 89 lets just sign this..if this had been the only thing but a couple weeks before mom's nurse calls me and talks about just letting mom die. Why put her through any test.
mom is basically healthier than me. Her memory is bad but she gets around. Visits. Has a special friend....yikes these nurses at that nursing home.   Got very upset....  But her room looks nice. And the other issue is there already a DNR in her fileS and she signed it ...beside I told them this is a Family thing and I would not sign it.
All on the East Coast be careful with this weather!
thanks all. Sure missing KENNY.  Love you son. Life sure could be happier With our Children here...

Sandi, that DNR order they wanted you to sign must have been such a shock! So sorry they had to upset you like this..

If is a good thing to read everything before you sign. You will never know what they put in front of you. Who has power of attorney over her medical care??? A lot of things to think about...
wishing you well

This should always be discussed by the staff with you and never just a paper that is handed over. I\'m sorry as I\'m sure you were not prepared to sign it without having a discussion around it. Sometimes everyone just gets too \"busy\" and situations that are so very sensitive are not handled properly.

Grateful you have POA and keep a watchful eye out as I know you are. Our parents need us advocating for them and I remember doing this for my late mom. The staff at the assisted living where she was the last three years of her life knew that my sister and me were a force to be reckoned with.

Hoping today is a gentle one dear Sandi on all levels. Your plate has been full!

Hugs of care,
XO Joanie
