MOM
I went to visit the nursing home yesterday morning around 9...It is probably a bit farther about 25 minute from me but for my sister who has no car it is about 45 minutes...I live in In, she lives in Ky...but anyway..the nursing home was a bit better than the one she was in originally where she wants to go back too..
So I still had turmoil of what to do...I talked to the Administor and she said I would just need a fax from her doctor...on the way home I realized her doctor is closed on Fridays. So called them back..told them and they said maybe he would come in and send the orders..I said I doubted it as when I called for medicine before he never called it in.
I came home talked to my husband about it..then I bravely appoached mom on the subject...She wanted to go see it so we went..and as we walked in the door they had received the fax from the doctor....
As it turned out....mom ate lunch there...got her room...we left she took a nap, we came home got some of her things and she is there...
I have not signed the paper as yet...but we go back today and sign everything..What was really funny was I was giving the nurse her medicines and I told her to go on to the sitting area where my husband was...I got finished with the nurse and was almost to where they were...
As fast as mom could go...she headed into a room full of of people with popcorn and they were going to do an activity not even turning to say bye...she seemed excited..
So we will go see her today and see how the night went...see how she is feeling today...and if it seems okay....will be signing her in...
I agree with comments on my last journal...it is true that since mom has been here, I had not taken care of my own needs...We have completely devoted our time to her..but she is my mom..and my husband has helped so much..I would have never been able to do it alone..
Of course mom's looking at this as a step to get back to the other nursing home which is suppose to be...but one thing I really liked about this place is the TV's were not blaring in each room...(mom does not like TV)...and it is true most of her time will be spent inside the nursing home, so which one she is at as long as they keep her busy with things it should not matter...
So Day 2 to see how it went...Hoping she enjoyed it...thanks for all the comments..and support...and advise...
