day from hell... i woke up at 5:30am to a huge sound rattled our bedroom windo... lightening strike on our oak tree.... huge oak tree... half of it went down and smashed our shed taking one of our power lines with it... we also have a live wire in our yard... i called com ed a thousand times today.... finally they sent a guy to "watch the wire" till someone comes to disconnect it... half of our electricity is on .. not the half with air conditioning of course... so it's hot.. dogs are hot and confused and i can't let them in the yard to do their business cause of live wire.. i have been taking them out on leash but 2 of them will only wet on the leash they won't do the other... soooo.... they are getting crabby... my hubby was sposed to go to sox game and can't now so he is crabby... we were gold that the electric company will come and detach the live wire (giving us no electricity then) but it's our responsibility to get some conduit and attach it to house... so providing we can get our son in law here to help us do that and with the added expense we just didn'g need this month .. i am crabby... hot ... crabby ... and shaky...

Look at the bright side Paula ..... Instead of the wire, the tree could have fallen the other way ..... and severely damaged your house. Just sayin\' , ya know? \"LUCK\" shows itself in so many different ways! Also, be grateful no one, including your pets, was hurt, Thank God !!!
Jim
As Jim said, you had a lot of good luck fall your way, even with the bad luck of the lightening strike and the loss of the tree and power line. I hope you can get the power back on fast, because the heat is to continue. Maybe you can find a good neigbor with power and A/C to crash at until you get your power back on. I hope you got some decent rain from the storm. Still nothing here since 1/4\" on June 6th. Hugs, Dan
That\'s not a good way to start your day. I understand about the dogs. Having three Black Labs myself. Not an easy task to do. You ave a right to be crabby. No power, That\'s just bad. Hope all works out for you. Brian
oh I know we were very fortunate it could have been a lot worse... i just feel bad for the dogs... we\'ll all get through it i was just venting!!!
