i haven't written a journal entry in a while, not because i've been depressed, or sick or just not interested but because i have been focusing totally on rehabing my knee and i must say it's going very well... my physical therapist said i am way ahead of the game in my range of motion... i am not using anything to walk with and for most of the day you can't even detect a limp until i get tired... my concentration now is stairs i get up them well and if there are a few i can come down with no problem but when i stand at the top of our 14 stairs in the house i am still fearful but i know that is just a matter of time. i am working very hard to be able to do the 3K walk for parkinson's on the19th of this month which is just a week away... yesterday i walked a mile and half and still had energy so i think before this week is over i will be right on target... i am very excited about this walk my whole family and a bunch of friends are doing it with me... my son's friends are actually doing the run portion of it (it's a 5 k run) but we will all be together afterwards for a party at a bar it's ending at.. Since my hospital stay i have been doing a lot of adjusting with my PD meds which makes my knee rehabing even more challenging because when i have good days i work twice as hard when i have off days i know enough to lay off for a while.. i'm learning that with PD you don't have to shut down just readjust the way you do things .. (maybe i'll be singing a different tune after my walk though... hahaha)
