Okay...I'm going to write a journal. Hopefully this is therapy for somebody. I used to joke about how crazy things are. It used to be funny to say I'm on the edge of madness. How many of us joked about or listened attentively to jokes about alter boys and priests when the scandals were headlines in the news? When I saw a TV news show about the horror of these experiences, I can't laugh at these jokes anymore. Now that my ears ring or rather scream non stop, I can't say lightly how crazy things are. Getting kids from soccer practice to piano lessons on time is not the edge of madness. A burned dinner is not a crisis. A ketchup stain on a white shirt does not have to be embarrising. It's my duty now to help people put these things in proper perspective. I try to do this without others knowing of my personal affliction as I don't know theirs. Mine is not a deformed hand and theirs is not a patch over an eye. I need to learn to put myself aside enough to really live this. Here is where we'll find relief. I wait in hopeful expectation..."Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven."

Amen John, one day we will understand why we have to live with this.I think it is a test of faith and your right, the more that we try to help others the more we will help ourself.I know that I have prayed and prayed for healing but we have to come to that point that we can say,Thy Will be done.It\'s still hard, people don\'t realize anything is wrong because they can\'t see anything. We have something going on that never stops,so we just have to learn to deal with it and keep it to ourself.People don\'t want to hear the same thing all of the time.That\'s why DS is so good.At least here we have people that we can talk to and they understand. There are alot of hurting people on this site.Maybe that is why we were led here.It\'s all about people helping people.

You sound a very thoughtful and God fearing man. Your description of your previous symptoms seem to mirror mine. Neck injuries which cause minor(i.e.non paralysing)damage to the spinal cord/nerves my be precursors to neural circuits that predispose to tinnitus under certian conditions such as stress. My tinnitus is linked to whole body neuropathic pain . Habituation occurs in all but about 2% of cases. God willing you and I\' wont ne in that %age
