Trip

Just got back from our trip last night - Had a really nice time but didn't win any money in Vegas.  The driving was a bit much - everything took longer than it said.  Then made the mistake of driving thru Death Valley - thought that would be interesting, rather than taking the way planned.   I never knew it was filled with such trecherous mountains but we can say we've been there.
This was always my husband's favorite trip - Las Vegas, then rent a car and go to CA up to SF to visit his aunt, then Yosemite and back.  He did it once before we were married, once before kids and once after - but the last time was 14 yrs ago.  This was partly a tribute to him and so the kids would see his favorite trip again.
Before we left I said, "Gee Pat, I hope you know we're going on this trip.  If there's someway you can get a message to me when we start out I'd like that but I don't know what you could possibly do.  Since he died there have been 2 things I have done a lot of - gone on this site and played the song "Total Eclipse of the Heart".  That song was playing over and over while we were on our honeymoon and constantly on the TV video. After he died I got the CD (went in the store, couldn't remember the name, didn't know the artist and picked up a CD that said 80's on the way out - and it was the 1st song - what a coincidence!)  I get in the car and now play it over and over whenever I'm driving - it's kind of like "our song".
The airline switched the seats of my kids (needed English speaking people near the exits) so they were sitting many seats ahead of my mother and I.  A movie was put on and I watched about 1/3 then took the earphones off.  When we got off my dtr was excited and said "what did you think about the fact that they kept playing that song all thru the movie?"  I said, "what song?"  She said, "the song you always play in the car, they kept playing it in the movie because the kid was trying out for a music audition and that was the song he picked".  Guess I missed hearing it but - I got off the plane thinking - I wonder if that was my sign from him.  Maybe someday I can ask.

Hi,
You never know when they will let us know there around. When I was in Walmart \"our song\" was playing. I was looking for stuff for my daughter shower. I knew Al was with me.
