The Legend of the Sand Dollar
There's a lovely little legendthat I would like to tell,of the birth and death of Jesus, found in this lowly shell. If you examine closely, you'll see that you find here, four nail holes and a fifth one, made by a Roman's spear. On one side the Easter lily, its center is the star, that appeared unto the shepherdsand led them from afar. The Christmas Poinsettiaetched on the other side, reminds us of His birthday, our happy Christmastide. Now break the center open, and here you will release, the five white doves awaiting,to spread Good Will and Peace. This simple little symbol,Christ left for you and me,to help us spread His Gospel, through all Eternity.
Just had to share this with my friends at DS.  Last week I was walking the beach in SC near where I scattered Jeff's ashes last year and asked him to give me some reassurance that he was still here with me and OK with the decisions I've made so far.  Just then I looked down and saw the most perfect little sand dollar I think I've ever seen. I took a picture of it tonight to share it with my friends here. I don't believe in coincidences, but do believe in listening for messages and in symbolism.  I found this very reassuring and it certainly brought a smile to my face.  Wouldn't sell the sand dollar for a million bucks!
