Defining my position at work. I work in an office where I am THE resource for everyone in the office. At least that is the way I see it, it's like being a bartender. I service everyone, listen to issues, personal and professinal. I get projects from different people, although I report to supposedly one person, I actually report to 3 or sometimes four people. I need insight on how to manage them all to meet their needs within my schedule. How do I deal with noise pollution? Loud converstations, ringers, computer speaker volume, interruptions, questions, comments, asking for advise, opinion and just talking, talking, talking. I am in a unique position in that I have real significant work, with deadlines that have to be met. How can I get my co-workers to respect my time and space when I work in an OPEN workspace, while remaining a Team player. Today's noise was significant, all the electronics, a loud boisterous trainer having personal and professional conversations on his cell, his 10 year old also here because of weather, speaker volumn.......i could go on and on. I just need it all to stop.

I finally just asked everyone to tone it down and respect my workspace. So far so good.
