Mother's Day
Another Mothers Day has come and almost gone. I am always emotional on special days.
It sort of kicks me in the stomach. Cevyn does not have the mom who loves her more than anything. Cevyn was her pride and joy. Lisa took her job as mom very seriously. I guess what drove it home was when Cevyn called when she was driving to Mothers Day Brunch with 'the family' - Harvey, Beth and her family. It just hurts.
So I went for a walk, cried, was upbeat when talking to Cevyn and thankful that I had Lisa for 37 years, that she birthed our beautiful granddaughter, and Andrew is a phenomenal son. However, I guess we dwell on what we don't have, and what could have been.
What I do know is that I have so very much to be thankful for. A wonderful husband, good friends and neighbours, and interesting and challenging activities to keep me busy.
And so it goes.
I hope my SOTH had a gentle day.
Lisa: I heard you, the unmistakable trill. I know it was you as I haven't heard that bird in a very long time. the bird I loved hearing back home. Thank you. I miss you always and love you forever, Mummy

Really tight hugs my friend. XOXO

Went to sunday brunch - Ami\'s grandkids there arguing who would sit with \'grandma\' me. Smiled, laughed, shared selfies with the phones and ate a great meal. Left when it was over and drove to the cemetary - to cry and touch the stone. Fix the flowers. Miss you Ami so much. I thought of all us mothers and hope all of us are doing OK. hugs. rose
A bitter sweet day. You are so right, we can easily dwell on what we don\'t have and what could have been. And it can be so hard to search for gratitude in the midst. Thank you Marlene for sharing your day, and for reminding me to go over my mental list of what I am thankful for today. And reminding me to go for walks! What a difference going for a walk can make. I am hoping this is my year to get back to the outdoors. Your Lisa is surely very proud of you. Hugs to you. Dee xoxo
Tight hugs, back, my friend. So sorry for the pain. These terrible losses we\'ve suffered, just kick us in the head, some days. I had Jake for 43 years, and I think I was too careless of him. Wish I could have been a better mother. It is what it is, my young son tells me. I know you are a good mother, too.
Warm and loving hugs to you, Marlene! xxx
Gentle ((hugs)) shared.
I know, sweet friend, some days are harder than others. Sometimes it is all just so unfair! I am wishing it could be different for all of us, but I don\'t know what good that does. I met a new friend on my walk the other day. She is from Viet Nam and I asked her if they had a Mother\'s Day. She told me they did not need one, they treat their mothers good every day. It made me giggle but I think I need a walk now. I am sending love and tight hugs your way, Leda
Learning how to live with the gratitude for what we do have and also for what is no longer is the both/and why of embracing this life and not the either/or I have been discovering. It feels more gentle reframing it like this and that is what I feel as I read your journal dear Marlene.
Grateful to feel our children with us how ever they present themselves and missing them sorely too.
Dear Cevyn... She knows you have her back and always in her corner. How I wish she had her mum still earth side.
Loving care to that huge heart of yours dear sister,
XO Joanie
Glad you got through Mothers Day & that Lisa let you know that she was there.
Love & Hugs,
Donna

Oh those what iffs...I get it.
We feel what we feel and then pull ourselves up by our boot straps. And when we do...we ARE grateful for what we DO have. ..but it isn\'t always easy.
Love you
I\'m right there with you Marlene. I\'m going through a rough time lately. Honestly I didn\'t enjoy my cruise very much this time because I could not get away from myself. Funny how we take ourselves wherever we go.
Just now reading your journal. We have both survived another mothers\' day, along with all of our soth!! I personally hate holidays, as they will never be the same, as nothing else in my life will be either. I am so happy for you, that you heard the special bird calling hello to you, from your Lisa...
((((HUGS)))), Julia
I know this is late, Happy Mothers Day, to my special friend....
I was very depressed because my one living child did not say a damn thing to me all day. Just when she had a question late that night did she call and say something to me.... I heard from my Son before I heard from my daughter. I will try to up load a picture to share.
I do hope you are better, life goes on so do we in one form or another.
Sending tight hugs your way
Penny
