update

This is me babbling.  Feel free to ignore.
Life has been hectic lately.  The cookbook is coming along.  I now know why Andrew did not like editing jobs (but did them because it paid okay).  Thankfully, I am almost done and Diane is checking to make sure that I have attached the right mom and child to the recipe!
Our neighbourhood committee has been busy too.  We are having a "Picnic in the Park".  We are doing the last minute tasks.  Unfortunately, I get ideas at the last minute.  I decided the park was going to look a bit blah so I went to Dollarama and got a couple of big windmills to post around the park, as well as other garden decorations.  I am getting quite excited as it it is happening on Saturday! I am hoping the weather is good - they are predicting sun and about 85 degrees.  Fingers crossed!
We have had dreadful weather for the last couple of days.  Rain, wind (felt like a hurricane), and hail. We are not used to flash floods and a foot of hail!   We were actually lucky in our immediate area as not too much damage was done.  Unfortunately, our gardens are toastl not a real hardship compared to some people in other areas of the city.  Some people had to be rescued when caught in flash floods. A roof blew off a house and trees have toppled, some falling on top of cars and houses.  I was wishing I could send some of the moisture to the drought areas!
Cevyn got a new car.  It is brand new.  I hope she can afford it.  Her dad is not helping her at all.  On the upside, she starts school next month.  I wish I could be closer to her.
My dear sweet Lisa: Cevyn could use your common sense right now.  She is such a cool kid but has no guidance in Ottawa and I can only listen.  It sucks.  I miss you always and love you forever, Mummy

So glad to hear you and your area wasn\'t hit too hard with the hail and flooding.
Hope the weather cooperates for you on Saturday and I\'m sure it\'ll be a huge success!
Love Cevyn, you know with all your heart and brain, that\'s the greatest gift you can give her!
Love you girl!

A foot of hail...OMG I can\'t imagine! My car has a million little dents from some bad hail storms we have had in the past, but it never amount to much as far as accumulation. That must have been so scary!

Cevyn will do fine in life; in fact probably better than most. She is being forced to grow up fast and take responsibility for herself. It can be scary but as she does it she will be so proud of her accomplishment and it will give her self confidence that will serve her, her whole life. But I understand your concern Marleen, it is natural for a grandmother to worry about her granddaughter. I do it all the time, especially with Athena because I have a precarious relationship with Sonija as you do with Cevyn\'s father, and don\'t even dare mention my worries to her.

Marlene, thepicnic in the park sounds wonderful. I hope your weather is great. Your weather sounds pretty scary and I\'m glad that is over.
So glad Cevyn as you and Joe in her life. You are such a great support to her as she matures. God bless her. Love to you and Lisa, Linda

You are a busy and productive lady! Sounds like the cookbook is coming along and the picnic sounds like a lot of fun and festivity. Try to enjoy it. It sounds like horrible weather! I can\'t imagine such drastic weather.

Thank you for your help with the cook book and I\'m getting excited to see the finished product. :)

I love reading about your involvements with your community and hope your gathering is wonderful.

I have no doubt that Cevyn is immensely grateful to Joe and to you and those heartstrings of ALL of you are forever connected. What a blessing that is and of course you will always wish that your Lisa, her mum, was in her life as you had always imagined she would be. With you in all of it dear friend.

Now, as for that crazy weather! Oy! Tell Mother Nature to lighten up a bit and please don\'t be sending hail of all things.

Loving care dear Marlene,

I understand your whirl wind of things to do...... The picnic sounds great, it has been a very long time since I did any thing like that. I am trying to be creative for the girls, their imagination is wonderful to listen to. Your weather sounds narly I would not like to see what a foot deep of hail looks like or what my car would look like either. We get hail here and of course we live in the FL tornado alley but mother nature has been kind. Tampa is flooded this year. Now about the cook book have you been taste testing LOL That would be my down fall eating....
Sending lots love to you and Joe

Glad your granddaughter got a reliable car. Chevyn is certainly blessed to have you and your husband as her cheerleaders.

What a good thing the Cevyn has a reliable car and while you are not as close as you would like, I suspect that she knows you are on her side in all ways possible. Such a blessing for you, Joe and Cevyn.
That hail storm sounds terrible. I remember one here a few years ago and about 150 cars were wrecked.
I know you will be happy when the cookbook work is done and we will be so excited to see it for sure.
hoping your weekend is good. Hugs, Kathy

The Picnic in the Park was a hit! Everyone seemed to have a good time. We had a debriefing party afterward. It is unanimous - this was our First Annual Picnic in the Park!.
