Easter

I wasn't going to write this but I have been reading some journals and see that I am not the only one who spent a good part of today with tears.
I remembered wonderful Easters when Andrew and Lisa were children and eagerly anticipated the Easter Bunny;  and in Ottawa when Lisa was married and loved preparing Cevyn's Easter baskets.  It is the time of the year that the maple sap runs and some of the sugar bushes are open to the public.  We would go to one that had Easter events for children.  Cevyn would go on an Easter egg hunt and then we would have fresh maple candy.  It is made by pouring hot maple syrup on clean snow.  As it cools, it is rolled on to a stick and presto - a maple sucker.  Yum yum.
So many of us feel that our kids are no longer remembered.  People avoid saying their names when that is what we yearn to hear.  I had a positive experience when Joe was discharged from the hospital.  We were waiting in the lobby for our friend to come and pick us up.  I looked up and saw a friend of Lisa coming down the hall.  She stopped and gave me a big hug and began to talk about the good times she had with Lisa.  I got a warm feeling and felt so happy that she was not afraid to remember Lisa with me.
Those time are rare but it was wonderful after the stressful week.
I hope this holiday was gentle for all.
My dear Lisa.  I wish we could turn back time.  It just sucks.  I miss you always and love you forever.  Mum

It still hurts me to remember the good times with Jason. Nothing will bring me to tears any faster. It will never change it\'s just is and will always be, until we are together. We so understand how you feel.

Yes, holidays are just plain difficult! All the emotions collide at once, anger, sadness - My ipad is acting up too badly to continue writing. Sorry.

I found myself too resting in the memories of sweet Easter\'s past. Douglas and Sarah hunting for eggs in the red rock desert of Utah as that was usually our first camping trip of the season. Leaving a note for the Easter bunny at home as they were worried it might be confusing as to where we were. Coming home and finding Easter baskets made from Mr. LJ\'s mom on our doorstep filled with seeds to plant in the garden and spring flowers too. Oh, I adore remembering and now hear of the traditions our daughter is creating. Life has all of these full circle moments and the longing is always there.

Such an earth angel happening to see one of Lisa\'s friends after such a grueling week dear Marlene. If only each of us knew and remembered how it is music to our ears and a healing balm to hear stories about our children and for them to be remembered...

I am remembering Lisa with you today my friend and oh, my, there was the biggest commotion around bedtime at our house with at least half a dozen Myna birds and they were all letting their \"needs\" be known. :) Made me think of your Lisa and wanted to be sure to share. :)

Loving care dear friend and hope that Joe continues to heal and oh, I can taste that maple syrup... So very sweet and more than that the memories that are wrapped up within it.

Holidays are so hard now. I would skip them completely if not for my girls. What a blessing to have Lisa\'s friend share good memories with you. I am so glad you saw her. Hugs, Paula

Oh Marlene, I get what you\'re saying. Easters have been hard for me too since Jared passed. He was born on Easter Sunday, April 3, 1983, and I remember thinking that it was my best Easter bunny ever! Sigh...

I think that was awesome that you saw Lisa\'s friend and she spoke about her. That must have been a truly welcome moment in light of the difficult medical issue with Joe. I pray that he is doing well by the way.

Hey, I wish I could taste one of those maple suckers! Sounds delish! :)

Love,
Diane

Thank you for sharing such wonderful memories of Easter with us. I was remembering one Easter this year....of sitting/standing in church with the kids only to turn around to find Billy entertaining the people behind us by putting on and modeling his sisters Easter hats. Thanks for the smile today. Hugs, Ann
