Here we go
I thought I had better check in today as I am not sure how I will be feeling on Green Smiley Monday. I had a lovely time in Eastern Ontario at our nursing class reunion. We realized it was 50 years ago that we entered nurses training! We are going to meet again in 3 years as it will be 50 years after graduation. I can't believe it!! We realized we are all the same people, just more wrinkly!! Some of us are a bit more mellow, and some of us are a bit less shy (me) but essentially we are who we were. That is the green smiley part.
The less smiley is that we got an email from the lawyer re the lawsuit. We have to complete a questionnaire as we did not attend the discovery - they would not pay for us to go and they would not come here. It is pretty straightforward, but they want dates and facts which after almost 4 years I can't remember e.g. how many times we went for counseling. I remember the 6 week group class that was useless and the 1:1 sessions were just about as useless. Let's face it; FMO rocks.
We are to attend a mediation at the end of November in Ottawa. I have arranged to stay with Lisa's friend. Lisa's friends are awesome. I really hope there will be some resolution as I would like this cloud over our heads gone. I have no idea what it will be like.
In the meantime, I am busy at home. I arrived home on Thursday night, had a budget meeting all Friday afternoon, and went door knocking again with my favorite city counselor yesterday afternoon. Last evening we went to see a Flamenco performance. It was awesome but now I am wiped so today is a do nothing day.
Wishing y'all a great week.
Lisa: I sure do miss you. I have so much to share with you, like Barb's driving. she hasn't improved. And how the beautiful people in the class are not quite as beautiful as they used to be! I know you are not far away, and you are watching over us and Cevyn but my heart hurts. I miss you always and love you forever. Mummy

I checked in the mirror yesterday, and I am still myself, just so much older and with too many chins. If I remember to pluck my errant hairs, my face is still recognizable and pleasant. Beauty sure is fleeting.
So nice to keep in touch with old friends, my life has been cut into too many pieces and illness has pruned my contacts.
I am hoping this legal business will go your way. It\'s always awful to deal with the law, I find. Love you, Abby
My years of schooling were all goofed up because of the times (too much to explain.) Dave still eats lunch with friends he went to school with basically K-12, and I envy that.
And I agree FMO rocks. Best wishes on your lawyer visit, I hope you remember more than you think. I know I have retrieved forgotten memories that come back because someone asked the right question or I get to talking and just remember.
Much love,
Leda
you lead such a colorful life..... love ya!
Glad that today is a day of rest because YOU are always a rockin\' and a rollin\' dearest Marlene.
Hopeful that things unfold as they need to with the lawyer and that what you need to remember you will be able to retrieve. I have no doubt that Lisa will be helping you with that.
Grateful for friends and time is moving along for each of us. My 40th HS reunion is next month in New York and I will not be able attend but certainly have enjoyed all the back and forth of the emails among my past HS buddies.
Lots of love dear Marlene and always delighted to hear how you are.
Thinking of Lisa and of you. Sorely missed... I know...
XO Joanie
I am blessed to have friends from throughout my life. The women I was with last weekend are special. Back in the dark ages, we had to live in the residence when we were training to be nurses. For 3 years we were together - we didn\'t always get along but we appreciate each other more than ever, especially now that we have lost 4 of our sisters.
Love hearing about your trips Marlene. After losing you precious Lisa, it makes sense life is to short, enjoy your traveling time now. Especially after knowing 4 of your friends have passed on.. We look at life in a whole new perspective, don\'t we!!! Love that smile of yours, Love Kelly
How wonderful that you keep in touch with those you went to school with. For a shy women you are very outgoing and people loving. I guess that\'s why we love you Marlene.
Hope all goes well with this litigation. I know every time something comes up with Jason\'s passing I get upset, but understand the need to do it.
Great Big Hugs,
Terry
So glad, you were able to attend your nurses class reunion. Isn\'t it amazing, how everyone else got so old looking and we didn\'t, lol?? Since my cataract surgery on my right eye, I am seeing wrinkles, I never saw before!! Maybe, if I don\'t have the other eye done, i can stay less wrinkled.....
I will soon have to deal with the lawsuit with the casino, where I fell. I am not looking forward to it, but if it stops one other person from falling in that spot, it will be worth it....
(((HUGS)))...Julia
I think it is fun reconnecting, No reuniions after 10th from H.S. Sounds like you had a good time. Love hearing about your travels.
Hugs Penny
A day of rest is good, I am doing the same. Football on tv, cake made for dessert, now making a blanket.
Wishing you some comfort in the upcoming legal events and a speedy end to it.
Having friends is truly the best medicine in this life. Peace, Kathy
