Green Smiley Monday
It is Monday again. I may not be smiling exactly, but am content. It has been busy since arriving home. We have had company and been on the go. Yesterday we went downtown to celebrate Chinese New Year - with a Chinese friend and her 'wanna be Chinese' husband. We had a Chinese lunch, watched the Dragon Dance and had a nice day.
This week, life should settle down a bit as our friends are headed for Mexico tomorrow.
I really do have to be thankful for our phenomenal trip to South America. We spent 2 weeks with some wonderful new friends and were able to experience a whole different world.
So why am I content but not happy? Life just can't be as happy as when Lisa was with us. I still get an upset stomach when I realize I can't share all these experiences with her. I think half the fun was her delight in seeing us enjoy our retirement.
Oh well, it is what it is.
I wish all my SOTH a great week!

I can\'t imagine how your heart feels, How old was she? I know we lost our sister in law she was 35 and left 4 kids, my brother was pretty devestated for years after but now has remarried and trust me she ain\'t my sister in law and never will be, it\'s a long story!!
I hope that God will give you the peace and strength as you go thru this grief and loss of your daughter, i still cry and miss her, she was a great lady & Mum & sister in law to me, they say it never goes away, I thought maybe I was crazy but somebody reassured me it gets easier but you never forget them and think of them daily cause they were a part of you and I!!
God bless you, take care, Hugs, Shorty
Yes, it is difficult to feel full joy in \"be-ing\" during the early years...there always seemed to be that nagging \"distance\" still sharply felt at times. The Spiritual tether cord --the Spiritual equivalent of the physical umbilical cord--still not yet cut to release them completely to their new world; their new Life...Time gently lends a hand to-- strand by strand--help us slowly release our ironclad grip...As that happened to me, my faith stepped in to help lighten the load and help my balance! Lisa is with you, fully alive and only a slender thread away...WIth time-- this became more evident to me! Hang in there Marlene! Love+Hugs, Donna
I guess coming home is a little anti-climatic. Good times are behind you now. Today I also had some hours of sadness, it\'s a terrible truth that our love is still so bereft and disappointted. All those years of building our love, and poof! just gone, just like that. One telephone call, and Jake was gone. So many miles away.
Dear Marlene, I am with you holding your hands, commiserating with the loss of your beautiful girl. The years will teach us to be easier on ourselves. That we have so little power in our own lives. love, Abby
I understand going on these awesome trips and feeling content, an still have sadness, unhappy..Me Too! You are lucky to beable to travel, Lisa is traveling along with you in spirit...I was thinking you may of not stopped working, maybe Lisa has alittle to with being your travel guide.. Have you ever thought that? Ummmmmmm!! Love and Hugs, Kelly
Highs and lows, together we walk. I believe she\'s traveling with you. Hugs!
It\'s all a balancing act isn\'t it??? I think the important thing is we keep experiencing the joys and wonders of this life as we know it, even while missing and wishing....
Love you!
Love to Lisa!
I sense you are getting back into your home life and all of these are adjustments indeed.
Understanding your longing for Lisa, and Douglas too was so very happy about my \"quasi\" retirement and more than anything wanted to know how it felt to be a grandparent. It was so wonderful that he cared that much to try to tap into that part of my JOY when his sister gave birth. :)
Wishing you a peace filled day and lots of love dear Marlene.
XO Joanie
I know exactly what you mean Marlene. Yesterday I laughed watching something on TV and realized how foreign the feeling of laughing is to me now. I don\'t think I\'ve laughed since the last retreat.
Hugs and love, Terry
Marlene, It is so true...contentment maybe...but just not happiness. Maybe one day? Love & much understanding, Linda
I just got back from vaccation at sea last Sun. I enjoyed it greatly I went to work still on a vaccation high not even the big piles of charts on my desk bothered me. I understand the let down feeling I usually get that at holliday time with all the prep and people then they go home and then there is nothing. I hope you find what is missing and capture it.
Big Hugs Penny
