A good day!
Just a short note to let you know about my day. I think I mentioned that I was doing a presentation at a conference for the Federation of Calgary Communities. It was a 15 minute session, done twice. Apparently I did well - at least I didn't bomb! And I had some positive comments.
Then this evening Joe and I went to a concert. Several years ago we went to a New Years event in Edmonton. They had entertainment at several venues in Edmonton. We heard a singer named James Keelaghan and a guitarist from Chile, Oscar Lopez. They now call themselves The Amigos. Both lived in Calgary at the time. I just loved both of them. Keelaghan writes and sings wonderful ballads - he has mellow voice and his songs are stories - often from real life. Oscar is incredibly talented - he also sings gutsy Spanish songs. I love the emotion he portrays. The chemistry between them is great so there is a lot of joking and chit chat on stage. Music is so healing and we listened, laughed and clapped for over 2 hours.
God knows what tomorrow brings but today was a gift.
Wishing all a wonderful weekend.
Lisa: I felt you with us this evening. I miss you always and love you forever, Mum

If there is any gift at all from this nightmare it is that we value days like this so much more than before. My happy days are few and far between but when they come I treasure them like you. All that matters is experiences with loved ones and music is so healing. Thanks for sharing your day it cheered me up today. Lots of love Anne
The concert sounds great,,glad you enjoyed it......and kudos for not \"bombing\"!!
You, bomb?? Not possible!!
ahhhh....celebrating the gifts as they come!!! WooHoo! Sounds marvelous!!
You did have a good day and good days are always welcome. Hope you have many more. Much love. Robin
Yes and I am determined to let more music into my life this year. Now that I am older, I enjoy classical music so much. As a girl I found it confounding my already scrambled brains. Now it\'s an organizing help.
Of course your Lisa is with you when you are feeling good. That\'s the mother she knows and loves. Abby
What a wonderful day, thank you for sharing that Marlene. Sending love, Terry
Wonderful news and so happy that you fiound time to enjoy living. We all must find time to do that every now and then.
Sounds like a healing and fun time! Glad your presentation went well, too! Lisa surely was with you...I think they especially like to witness our enjoyment of something that gladdens us... Love, Donna
I am glad you had a good time. It is always good to be with great friends and enjoy the company. I hope you can get out and do that more often.
Thinking of you....
Hugs Penny
Sounds like a lovely evening. I am glad you felt Lisa with you. I love music of all kinds. It soothes the soul...
((((HUGS))))....Julia
Not surprised that you did well...congratulations! And it sounds like it was a fun evening...love and big ole NC hugs!
Music is healing. I simply cannot go through a day without having it as my constant companion. And live concerts that transport and lift us beyond the mundane to a higher sense of being are transforming. I went to two Leonard Cohen concerts in Vegas, once in 2009 and once in 2010, and they were by far two of the best evenings I had during our entire time in Nevada. Recently we saw the same concert on PBS and I felt cleansed and healed yet again.
These days and moments of joy bring such hope and promise.
With much love and hugs of healing ~ Debbie
That\'s good news, Marlene. I am glad your presentation went well. And a gift of a good day is very special. May you have many more. Love to you and Lisa, Linda
