Green Smiley Monday
It is a green smiley today. The sun is shining and the weather is warming up. The sinus headache is not going to ruin my day - thanks to Sinutab (I often get headaches when the weather changes).
We went to Chinatown yesterday to see the Dragon Dance. With the somewhat milder weather, a lot of people were out to celebrate the Lunar New Year. It was wonderful seeing the mosaic of nationalities. Even the dragon had a variety of people dancing. We are indeed a multinational community. It also made me nostalgic for China.
This afternoon I am going out for dinner with some former colleagues. It is always nice to see them and catch up on the gossip!
The cloud on this sunny day is the upcoming wedding. I am not looking forward to it. The only upside is seeing my granddaughter (she is going to be a bridesmaid). Also my sister and 2 nieces are coming. It will be hectic so perhaps i will be too preoccupied to be depressed.
My precious Lisa: I miss you always and love you forever.
I wish you all a wonderful week!

Happy Year of the Dragon! I hope you followed up the parade with some delicious Chinese food or will have Chinese food today with your colleagues!
The sun is shining here too after the snow, the ice, the wind, the rain and the flooding! Whew!
As always, one day at a time ~ the wedding will take care of itself when the time comes. My sister taught me to give myself permission in advance to cry, to leave an event, to do whatever I need to do to get through something I\'m not looking forward to. Usually when you forgive yourself and give yourself permission in advance, there is not the slightest need for it!
Enjoy that fun lunch with your friends!
Love, peace and hugs of yumminess ~ Debbie
I so very much like the idea of a multinational community. What wonderful \'flavor\' that would bring to life. Here, in Stockton, California, we have several different ethnic groups. Sadly, we have a high rate of severe poverty and the related gang activities and neighborhood issues -- just very sad.
I am so very glad you are enjoying so much in life -- it always makes me smile. Since my husband died in 03 I cope alone with severe disability and am stuck at home with only the internet to be connected with people. I enjoy my gardens when I am able and the friends I have made through our shared support here with our DS family. This is the only contact I have with people anymore. The social worker was to help with house repairs but five months and she still drags her feet. I have finally accepted the needed care to get the work done simply may never be found and after four years of no working bathtub Im starting a webstore to sell gift baskets and other items to raise needed funds to do the repair work. If it goes well I would like, after getting my home in good repair, to help others coping with a similar crisis now that I am fully aware of the tragic absence of support which would allow a disabled person coping alone to have at least a working bathtub to keep clean. We will have live streaming video to cover the repair work as it is done and that should be fun for those who would enjoy seeing the actual work take place especially for those who know what it has been like for me to survive with these circumstances. I\'ve heard of people falling through the cracks but this being \'stuffed\' through the cracks has been a true challenge. I did some research in an effort to understand how common it is for disabled people coping alone to be harmed through neglect and to my amazement I discovered it is very common and often results in the death of the disabled person. Here I only needed help with labor and could provide all materials and supplies and even at that no help has been located. That society allows a disabled person to go over four years without having a working bathtub -- I suppose I thought we were somehow better than that.
I hope the wedding keeps you too busy to have to experience any pain. You are just an amazing person on how you manage with such horrific loss while also taking the pain and allowing it to be used to do good for those around you. I live to honor my husbands memory and that is how I cope and survive these challenges. He was such a wonderful human being gentle, kind and good and living to honor his memory is my greatest comfort.
It makes me smile thinking of the good times you have with friends. You truly do make the very most of life and I am very proud of you.
Gentle ((hugs))
:-) Patricia
