Green Smiley Monday

It has been awhile since I commented on Green Smiley Monday!  Life has been quite an adventure during the last couple of months.  Our Camino Santiago pilgrimage was wonderful.  I had no idea that walking could be so peaceful, or that I could walk around 350 miles in 30 days.
The walk really was a metaphor for life.  You never know what is in store.  So with the Camino, you never know what to expect. We experienced happy days, difficult days, sad days, and boring days.  You never knew what the trail would be like - flat, paved, rough and rocky, dusty or steep. We had several climbs (though we avoided the very steep mountains as Joe has a bad knee).  The ones we did were not always easy.  Climbing, we would be certain that were near the top, only to turn a corner and find a steeper hill!  Coming down was often more difficult as the ground was gravelly - and there were no switchbacks.  We never knew who we would meet each day.  We would walk alone or with someone for awhile.  We were all there for our own reasons. Despite the weather  (which varied from blazing hot in August to very cool in the morning near the end of September) we walked.  I really liked the fact that all I had to do was don my backpack and walking poles each day and look forward to what the road had in store.
It is a green smiley Monday and I am home for a bit and feeling okay.
I hope all have a great week.
