I have been whining and complaining about our snow. Then I turned on the television and saw the destruction in the Southern States. I will take the snow! I feel so sad for those who have lost loved ones. And I hope and pray that all of you who live in those areas are safe.
Lisa's birthday is on Wednesday and Cevyn and her dad and his new partner are coming. I was wondering what to do to celebrate Lisa on what should have been her 39th birthday. I think I will get some gerbera daisies - they were one of her favorite flowers. She always had them in her beetle and changed the colors regularly. Not sure what else I will do.
I read Linda's journal. She talked about her friends who are uncomfortable with her grief. I am feeling that people give me quizzical looks as I get teary eyed when I talk about Lisa. Perhaps I am overly sensitive but I get the feeling that people think I am overreacting as it has been over a year. I should be "over it".
My moods are so labile - I have no idea how I am going to feel or react at any given time. I am not over it, nor will I ever be. I will cope as best I can and function in a somewhat normal way (as normal as I ever am). But Lisa was part of me and was my best friend.
Lisa: I miss you terribly. The joy left when you went to heaven.

I think our friends are going to have to get used to it. I guess they might say things like \"She\'s never been the same since Andy died.\" They\'re right.
I will think of Lisa when I see Gerbera daisies... they are truly gorgeous.

I have always thought that those who are quick to say \"get over it\" have never lost a loved one. You never get over it..Its been 18 years for my dad almost 13 for my husband. I still think of them every day its just that now the grief isn\'t so raw and I can take joy in all the memories without crying all the time. Gerbera daisies were always\" our \"flower\" They flourished in our yard and every day through the summer Greg would bring in a little bouquet and sing \"I\'ll give you a Daisy a Day Dear\" Thank you for reminding me of that precious memory. Big Big hugs and prayers for good days.
I am right there with you...so I just try not to say anything, yet it is so hard to do...it would be just as if we are sharing something about anyone else that we love...why people are so uncomfortable I don\'t know....I loved Ken, he was my son, he lived a life,,,just like all of our children on here...Why do they think we should act as if they didin\'t exist...Not too long ago a friend said to me when I was sharing something about Ken and started tearing up...she says\" I didn\'t know you were that close to him\" I wanted to scream...gezz he was my son why would I not be close and love him dearly...It\'s horrible that people just don\'t understand and we have to hold so much in...maybe that is why we can\'t move forward,,,we need to share our loss..Sandi
Your friends are just going to have to get over it...there is no way that YOU are \"over it\". One year is a blink of an eye in \"grief world\". It takes a long time to be able to talk of your child without tears. Hold up your head and hold up your right to still be sad...they are clueless...love and hugs...Karen
If you get teary eyed, like I do, let those tears roll!!!Just maybe those people will notice how much you still hurt and miss Lisa....Nora
