Green Smiley Monday
It is sort of a green smiley day. I am in Thunder Bay as my brother is in the hospital having tests to decide whether they can do vascular surgery as he has no circulation to one foot and only 50% to the other. He is in a lot of pain and on IV antibiotics as he had cellulitis in the really bad leg and was developing it in the other. I am hoping that they will make a decision about his surgery soon as he will need to go to Ottawa or Toronto for the surgery and I would likely accompany him. I am also antsy to go back home - I have been away for 4 weeks.
The green smiley part is that Robert's pain was less severe today. My brother is a kind, gentle man who is also suffering some confusion and memory loss. But he has maintained his sense of humor. He has offered to give his painful toe to the first taker!
I can also smile because I have 2 dear friends here - I have known them since early childhood. They have been providing chauffeur services and room and board! I am not staying with my sister as she is not well either (my sister is 11 years older than me and my brother is 13 years older). Without Pirjo and Diane, it would be a lot harder.
So smile I do (between the tears).
I hope you have a great week!
