Ok officially hate seroquel. When I do get to sleep which is a little sooner than before I have nightmares worse than before. I then wake up at 11 am. Half my day is gone, and I am not fully awake until around 5pm. Then 3 hrs later it is pill time again. I do not know which is worse insomnia or the meds. Sean

I\'ve been taking Seroquel for a year or so now, and don\'t know at this point if it\'s helping or not. I still have nightmares, pretty much every night. HOWEVER, I recently tried a drug called minipress (generic name, has another name like prosiazian or something close). It\'s helped much more noticeably than the Seroquel. I still have nightmares but I manage to sleep through the night whereas before they were so bad I had to get up and turn on the light and watch t.v. or something because I was afraid to go back to sleep. It has made a difference. Still wish sleep was something wonderful and restful, but that\'s not realistic right now. I know that minipress lowers your blood pressure, so if you have low blood pressure already you can\'t take it. But talk to your doctor about giving it a try. Also search the DS PTSD site, because a lot of other people have used this medication and I remember some threads about it.
It was so nice to hear from your wife by the way. She seems really loving. I hope your family is hanging in there. Lots of love to you, your wife, and your girls!
