I am a retired teacher from Long Island New York who moved back to his roots in sw Pennsylvania.


For the last two years I have been having severe pain above my right canine tooth. After seeing a dentist I realized that the problem was not caused by a dental problem. I had an MRI last October and it was normal. My neurologist concluded that I had trigeminal neuralgia.


I started to take CARBAZEPINE but the side affects made me dizzy and tired but took the sharp pain away. Prsently I am on AMIPTIRPTYLINE but it elevated my blood pressure.

I am presently seeing a NUCCA certified chiropractor who is helping me until this weekend. The sharp pain come back this weekend.

Does anyone have any suggestion for another medication that doesnt elevate your blood pressure. I will call my doctor in the morning but would appreciate any suggestions of this group.
