Went to a meeting tonight, was a half hout late and there was a new woman there.I watched as she was taken everything in, and at the end she was asked to speak and didn't want to say much. Someone read the promises and she became very emotional.I believe she will be back.The want has to be more than the need. until next time. peace

Wow Gary, I so remember those meetings......I would cry everytime I opened my mouth as there was so much pain inside that I was drinking on. I love the way alcoholics look after each other in these situations.
When I first went, the want wasnt more than the need, then I had my first spiritual awakening and things changed.

I led a meeting last week and a new girl started crying as I spoke. After the meeting, she talked to me and told me how my story touched her and was just like hers. She struggles evry day with wanting to use. She was amazed when I told her that God had taken that obsession away from me by living this program. I remember feeling that way and not believing the obsession could ever go away. Recovery is such a miracle! God bless you!
I still cry at meetings, you\'re right the want has to be there more than the need...and I WANT to be sober today!
