GRATITIUDE Went to a meeting to night and a guy was there with  30 days in the program. I remember the night he came in it looked like he was detoxing and could hardly hold a cup of coffee he was shaking so bad.  He shared tonight  how lonely he was because all this so called friends have dissappeard  since he stopped drinking and drugging and couldn't figure it out.  Now this guy is 6"5 and 250 pounds and cryed like a baby because what he is going through but he also stated that if wasn't for the program and the people there he suley would have drank and you could fell the gratitude quite moving.  After the meeting  we talked and I thanked him for sharing that it really help me out and he looked at me like what the hell did I say to help you and I went on to tell him he told a lot of my story when I can in.  I told him when I  made a decision to seek recovery all those so called friends did the same with me, you could see a gleem in his eye that he wasn't alone and someone else went through the same thing he is going through now and you see some type of peace in him.  What I am trying to say here is  we are people just trying to help with the same common problem.  Then I mentioned to him we are all different but were all the same and he could relate to what I was saying. If someone on the site is just seeking recovery maybe you can relate and remember, you are not alone and there is a solution... untill next time

I remember very well the DTs and losing so called friends. It was brought to my attention that I have to change my playgrounds and playmates. I\'m glad this guy has decided he wants what we have and hopefully he\'s willing to go to any lengths to get it! Thank you for sharing!
