Hurt

My mom and  were taken out to a birthday lunch today that was supposed to be for both of us but because she tuned 60 and I just 25 she got all the attention. Now I feel like I am worthless. :'(

Hon, it is okay. My mom used to get all the attention because turning 60 is a milestone age. I got the same thing when I turned 60 and boy when I turned 65 I got a nice surprise birthday party. Which I now really appreciated it. Enjoy the time with your mother, hon. I wish my mother was still around for me to hug and celebrate her milestones. She passed away May 31, 2011. And I miss her everyday.

Hugs, sweetie! It\'s only because 60 is a milestone birthday, and 25 not-so-much. I\'m sorry that it\'s made you feel worthless. You aren\'t. xo

You\'re not worthless! It\'s just that your mom is older so she got more attention. Can you go out with a few folks to specially celebrate your birthday? Just because you already had one birthday lunch doesn\'t mean you can\'t celebrate again~

You are not worthless. I just had a birthday in March. My husband did not plan a party for me and I was hurt. So I decided that next year I will just plan something for myself! So I agree with Huelani.....grab some folks and celebrate again :)

You are worth everything to us (DS). My ex didn\'t even wish me happy birthday on my birthday. So we all have disappointments. A belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY on your special day. Hugs

My mom use to make sure she got all the attention. She use to always tell me what a snob she was and she didn\'t care who knew it. She was really good at embarrassing me when we were out. Just because your mom got attention, doesn\'t mean it was \"good attention\" and that, in no way, makes you worthless.

GB is sooo right. Not every form of attention is good. But...I so understand the issue. I had to "suggest" to my kids because it was my 55th. Did enjoy it, though.
