#11 today?

Will be heading off for treatment 11 today if all goes well and my counts are good.   Been having a lot of nose bleeds lately so I suppose the platelets may be a bit low.    They haven't pulled the Oxi from my chemo-cocktail yet, but my onc says that 9 is the median that people recieve these days before they stop due to neuropathy.  I've already passed that number.   My fingertips and the soles of my feet are a bit numb and tingly this a.m., but I think it's being triggered by the 34F temps outside.   The 5FU isn't doing any favors for my heartburn and diarrhea either, but I am taking the meds as prescribed and it seems to be more manageable.  Trying not to project the outcomes here so I don't become too disappointed if I get pushed back a week.   It would be so nice to get this over with before Christmas.  I  don't have any expectations of getting everything decorated and baked etc. as usual, but I do hope I'm feeling fairly decent that week.  My daughter will be visiting from Florida and I would love to go out and do some things with her.  On the plus side, I think my hair is starting to grow back!  I didn't lose all of it, but it has thinned very noticeably.   It's amazing how the relatively small and unimportant things make such a difference in this process.  It sounds silly, but from now on I will really appreciate my hair and eyelashes. For now, my mantra is "things could be much worse".  Perhaps not the most positive of sentiments, but it is true and it is getting me through this by reminding me to be grateful for the good things (of which there are many) in my life.

Guess it does not matter what mantra seems to work better than the other for you, as long as it keeps to the positive side of things. I am surprised you had any hair loss, guess I was fortunate. Finished the second round of chemo in October so whatever hair I seemed to lose was the ususal fall shedding with me. I pray for you and a speedy process every night, not sure how much connection I have but a prayer here and there does not hurt. Turkey day was very tiring for me, hubby said \"no problem\" to the cooking and as usual I did most of it and he had to lift the turkey and ham (suppose to not life over 10lbs (HA!!!) until the staples come out..one would have thought Emirle Lagasse had been here to cook. He just beamed with pride, did get a kick out of him when someone asked him how he made the gravy so per-
fect!!! He turned to me and as ususal I rescued him and commented I gave him my secret recipe..ha ha. It was nice but abit too much for me and I crashed on Friday. Now for Christmas, have no desire to decorate
and be merry. Just not physically up to the work. Maybe I will change my mind betweem now and the 15th.
Highly unlikely, think I will go to the daughters home and help her instead.
I wish you much good fortune today and just know at some point this will be a memory. Take care and stay well.
Best of thoughts to you,
Pat

Staples came out yesterday and wow there were 15 and only one pinched slightly during the removal, not bad. Feels so much better in the tummy now.
