#11 today?

Will be heading off for treatment 11 today if all goes well and my counts are good.   Been having a lot of nose bleeds lately so I suppose the platelets may be a bit low.    They haven't pulled the Oxi from my chemo-cocktail yet, but my onc says that 9 is the median that people recieve these days before they stop due to neuropathy.  I've already passed that number.   My fingertips and the soles of my feet are a bit numb and tingly this a.m., but I think it's being triggered by the 34F temps outside.   The 5FU isn't doing any favors for my heartburn and diarrhea either, but I am taking the meds as prescribed and it seems to be more manageable.  Trying not to project the outcomes here so I don't become too disappointed if I get pushed back a week.   It would be so nice to get this over with before Christmas.  I  don't have any expectations of getting everything decorated and baked etc. as usual, but I do hope I'm feeling fairly decent that week.  My daughter will be visiting from Florida and I would love to go out and do some things with her.  On the plus side, I think my hair is starting to grow back!  I didn't lose all of it, but it has thinned very noticeably.   It's amazing how the relatively small and unimportant things make such a difference in this process.  It sounds silly, but from now on I will really appreciate my hair and eyelashes. For now, my mantra is "things could be much worse".  Perhaps not the most positive of sentiments, but it is true and it is getting me through this by reminding me to be grateful for the good things (of which there are many) in my life.
