11/25/2014 I'm Prepared!
We're getting a major snowstorm here in the southern portion of NY. Starting tonight with some flurries, little more on than off for tomorrow, then
WHAM!
Sundown tomorrow brings up to an inch an hour. I should see 5 to 8 inches of heavy, wet snow at the very least. It'll finally taper off by Thursday morning. This is the kind of snow that brings down trees & power lines because it is so heavy & wet.
Had my snow tires put on 2 weeks ago. Heating oil tank filled just this past August. Picked up some milk & eggs & a few other things at the market today. Started the generator when I got home just to be sure & then went back out to get extra gas for the generator.
LET IT SNOW TOMORROW! I DON'T HAVE TO GO ANYWHERE!
Thursday, I'm heading out to my little sister's for dinner. The snows will be done & the plowing finished by the time I have to leave. My Bro-In-Law Craig (my financial guy) is a Culinary Institute of America trained chef. So, yes, in my mind I've eaten too much already! Gotta remember to put the hand truck in my trunk- someone will have to load me up & wheel me out to the car...
Hugs & Love to my DS friends!

Have fun my friend and Happy Thanksgiving
You are smart, with the snow tires and emergency preparedness. But you should have hurricane candles, batteries and waterproof matches, too. I have an auto emergency kit too. Thermal blanket, waterproof matches, candles with heatproof containers. Extra socks, fleece pants and tops. Water and some snack to munch on. I was so happy that I had those things in my car, when I got stuck on a highway. It was fine when I left but as I got closer to my destination I hit a snow squall. I had to turn around. But if I was really stuck, I would have been okay. Stay safe, my friend. Happy Thanksgiving Hugs
I used to like winter storms when I was young. I made a lot of $$ shoveling walks. Had regular customers. Have a blast!!! happy thanksgiving. - hugs Arlene
Hi Knucke! You are right. I will be putting together an emergency kit for the car.
