Went for a hike this weekend, was a short one, but I got throught it....YAY!!!!! Then we went to the beach and ran into some friends who had the foresight to bring an umbrella for shade, whew. The lake water felt great on my feet but thought my legs might topple over once I hit knee deep. Disappointed by that, yet still happy I could gingerly hike and even suspect I may run again someday. My colleagues at this new job commented on how slow I go down the stairs here. Stairs are my worst here as they do not provide elevators to many labs I have worked in. Wonder why? Anyway, I hope it's not too obvious, as I struggle to maintain a 'normal' gait. I refuse to become crippled. Only 4 months into my acceptance of my diagnosis, maybe I am not doing too well accepting this, I just can't imagine not walking, or not working, etc. But, to stay in today, I can walk. My feet hurt a little yet, but I have gotten better since January for sure, so I have no business worrying for tomorrow. Today is going to hit 90's i suspect. So I will stay here at work and enjoy their A/C.

Enjoy working and doing activities now while you feel like and don\'t worry to much about what tomorrow will bring. If I knew a few years ago how I would be today, I would have taken more time and enjoyed even more working and doing things I enjoyed. Not every one who has MS gets crippled. Just take care of yourself and listen to your body. I didn\'t do so good at that and some days I really paid for not listening. When your body tells you to rest, rest. I think a positive attitude goes a long ways to making you feel better.
