Just checking in...hard to believe it's been over a month since I last wrote! I actually accomplished all that I set out to do since last time, but I'm still working on my aunt's unclaimed property. There's another glitch & I have to contact someone else altogether. Whatever...
On a related note, one of her good friends (who brought this to my attention) seems to think that this money is due HER (and partly because her husband is suffering from cancer & of course the treatments are drying them up financially), but I very kindly (but firmly) explained that this money is due the estate (which is basically me & my sisters). Yet I encouraged her to pursue my aunt's life insurance, which for whatever bizarre reason my aunt had, named her friend as sole beneficiary. Surely that is WAY more money than this unclaimed property (which is only about $900). Again: whatever...
My daughter decided on her college. Now I have to go through all the financial aid stuff with that, as well as look into scholarships (none of which are simple). But that's OK I guess. I'm really excited for her.
Son, dog & husband are all the same. I have to say that DH does not hate his job (yet, anyway!), and likes being able to have a steady income. I like it too.
Mean sister left her job. She wasn't getting the hours to make it worth going in every day. She's talking "poor", but not acting like it, so again: whatever... She does have a part-time job that she really, really likes, so she's been pouring herself into that.
