Catching Up

I've been so busy with work & home stuff, I've hardly had a chance to catch up with journaling! Here's the latest:
My daughter: took her & her friends to a college fair in town, so they could get some info on colleges they're interested in. We need to start to get serious at looking at schools. Got her registered to take the SAT. And she's actually going to be going to the junior prom! It'll be her first date...*sniff*...Her best friend is loaning her a dress (which is nice), so all I need to pay for is her ticket & accessories.
My son: still nothing. I am certain he is depressed & that is what is holding him back. But I know he won't talk to anyone. And even if he did & they decided to give him meds, he'd never take them. (He won't even take Advil for a headache.) So I'm trying to support & encourage him the best I can. A little background: I actually came across the terminology for when you slow down so much you're hardly functioning: "psychomotor retardation." It is a common symptom for depression. When I discovered that, everything made so much more sense.
My husband: he's starting to branch out in his job applications; in other words, not just restricting himself to photography. If he could just get something full-time & relatively local. Yeah, he'll probably complain about that, but at least he'll be making steady money.
Speaking of money: I was waiting for our federal tax refund when suddenly we got a notice that they re-calculated & we actually owe them! For some reason, I didn't panic (though I was concerned). I looked over their notice & found out that I'd forgotten to put the kids' social security numbers on the form, which affects the entire calculations, deductions & credits! Fortunately, there is a simple dispute process & I think I'll be able to straighten this out painlessly. And we'll get our money (not as soon as I wanted, but it's sure better than paying!).
Work: as I said, I've been busy; it's my "busy" time, but hasn't been overwhelming. I actually had an answer to prayer today: I had shipped out some boxes & all but 1 made it to the destination. All the boxes were really important & we were working with Fed Ex to track down the missing box. I'd been praying: "Lord, you know all things & you know exactly where the missing box is. Please bring it to the surface!" Well, today they found it! Yippee!
Genealogy: uncovered multiple branches of the family recently; that will keep me busy!
Family of origin: mom called & wants to host Easter dinner. Fine with me; I won't have to cook! Haven't gotten together with Mean Sister yet, but that's all up to her. We have "talked" a little on Facebook though.
Mentally: doing OK. Keeping a level head (mostly) & trying to stay on top of my responsibilities.
Physically: I've been really, really watching my snack intake. I noticed that once I start with the carbs, I just can't stop myself! So the best thing to do is avoid snacking (particularly at work) altogether. It's paid off; some of my pants don't fit as tight! So between that & keeping up with exercising, I should be OK.
That's just about it!
