Catching Up

So, for a while there, nothing much was going on in my life. Now there is so much to say & not enough time to say it in! So here are the highlights:Work - busy! A person in our dept has gone on FMLA & her primary back-up was on vacation, so my co-worker & I have been named their back-ups. Then my co-worker was out a couple days, so it was just me. Thanksgiving - went to in-laws. It's been almost a year since we've seen them (since we missed them over the summer). Although I like my in-laws a lot, I hate their house. There is so much dust & clutter (not hoarder-y, though); the sheets on the beds are never clean; the beds & pillows are so uncomfortable (DH & I both had sore backs & necks from it); the TV is on ALL the time; and it's so HOT at night! I was sooo glad to be back at home, sleeping in our nice cool quiet house & nice clean comfy bed! On the plus side, I helped out my MIL a lot with Thanksgiving dinner & it helped her from stressing out too much over it.DH - every time we go to his parents, I see traits in them that belong to him as well. This time, I saw some of his brother in him! I suppose that's true of all families; it's just interesting when you specifically notice it. Anyway, he's been sporadically clingy again. He's majorly detached about his job & wants to look for something else. So he says. I would love for him to find something more full-time. However, I know that this will likely be all talk & even if he does follow through, I don't think he'll stick with it because he'll find something wrong with it.Son - he's the same. I wish he'd get some motivation to work, though. He's volunteered to help me make the Christmas cookies, which has actually been pretty helpful & somewhat time-saving. So that takes the stress off a bit.Bible Study - has been fantastic. Tomorrow is our last day & I'll miss it. We've learned a real lot.Christmas - Busy, too. I wrote all my cards over the Thanksgiving break. I've lined up my cookie schedule for the next couple weeks. I plan on shopping early in the morning, on the way to work & via Amazon. I really avoid the crowds that way! Mom insists on not exchanging presents anymore, so that's one less person to worry about.Looking forward - I need to re-examine my new year's goals. Probably make them more realistic. I've already set my genealogy goals, which have been successful this past year.So that's it!
