Interesting...
I made an interesting discovery about myself this weekend: I find it much easier to talk to my son than to my daughter. Not that I can't talk to my daughter at all, but I find it so much easier to broach difficult subjects with him than with her. (Maybe because he's more difficult??) Bottom line: no, I didn't say anything to her. Maybe it is for the best, because I'm still not sure WHAT to say.
Anyhow, she had a nice birthday. We did a lot of things: saw a movie, went to the mall for lunch & some presents, and an ice cream cake after dinner. She enjoyed her temporary status as "only child" for the weekend!
DS enjoyed his youth trip. He seemed very relaxed, though I could tell he was happy to be home too (although he did want to stay the extra day). He actually wanted me to hang out with him during & after he was unpacking...and he even cuddled up to me as we watched TV! Wow! So I'll take what I can get while I can get it!
