Thanksgiving

Well, Thanksgiving exceeded my low-set expectations, so that is good! Only 2 minor insults from my sister (1 was just sarcasm, so I'll let it go & the other was so minor & stupid that it wasn't worth the breath). Mom was on her best behavior & didn't really get weird on us. My son was kind of snotty in the car, but once he got to eating at my sister's he was fine. The food was good & my sister didn't really knock herself out for it (because, really, she didn't need to), so we were all able to relax OK. I guess you could say that my "prize" for her was getting to keep the rest of the pumpkin bread that I baked (I had another loaf at home, so no biggee.). I'm glad she & her husband liked it; it really is a good recipe.
After we got home, we went to a friends house for dessert & coffee (though I just had the coffee--I was stuffed!) and we all watched the evening football game together. It was nice to be hanging out with all of them, too!
So today, it's back to work & it's super quiet today, since most of the office is out. It's time to look forward to the Christmas season, which is a little longer this year due to Thanksgiving being a little earlier. This is a great thing because I get plenty of wiggle room to get everything done!
