Just an Update

1st Quarter interims came out. DD is doing "satisfactorily" in everything. DS is doing well in most classes; a couple where he needs to make up some work or complete some things; improving in 3D Media (art); and of course in danger of failing English. He says he knows what he needs to do & is working on it. He did admit that managing his time was hard, but he was doing his best. I thought that was a pretty astute observation of him.
Work has been pretty frustrating, particularly in the area of a new software we are using (and has fallen on me to be in charge of). Unfortunately, my training was very piecemeal & although they taught me various things about the system, they didn't tell me the things that are critical for me to know. So now I'm trying to fish for answers & they are slow in coming. I don't like that.
Today we had our annual health screening once again at work. This time I remembered to fast, so ALL my numbers came back normal. And although my BMI is in the "normal" range, I wasn't too happy with what I saw on the scale! Doesn't help that there are birthdays going on & we're headed into the holidays! I guess I need to make healthy choices & remember "moderation"! Anyhow, it's nice to know that I don't have some of the same health problems my sisters struggle with (like high blood pressure).
My youngest sister is fixing to move to San Francisco. Her husband just got a job up there, complete with a beautiful view of the Golden Gate Bridge from his office! Her job is winding down, so she should be up there in a couple months. They're able to get together every couple weeks in the meantime.
Mean sister says (on FB) that she'll be sending me an email about what will be going on for the holidays. (She typically hosts Thanksgiving every other year.) So we'll see what's happening there. I've been keeping it on the DL with her still & I think that's been good for me. I really need for my heart to be in the right place, as well as protected. That is a delicate balance!
