Green Smiley Monday

Yesterday we celbrated "All Saints Day" at church. Saints in my belief system refer to believers who have gone on before us. Our minister had us write the name of our beloved on cards so that they could be honored - if we wanted to. I wrote Ed's name on a card and the cards were placed in a basket. As we honored the deceased believers our minister urged us to think of ways that our beloved could still continue to be influential in our lives even though they are not physically here.
I loved this and as I thought about Ed I remembered his example. He was the most non-judgmental person I have ever known. That influenced and influences me even now. He had a pure faith in God. That continues to influence me. He was a grateful person...that inspires me. So Ed continues to be influential in my life and I am grateful that our minister pointed that out to me. It is one more way that Ed is still with me.
Love and peace, Linda

Linda, Love what you wrote, my Bill was much the same way, full of life, fun and loved everyone, always on the bright side. I think it is great that could enjoy the service and remember your son in such a great way and I know he is with you always. Much love and thanks for sharing. Lynette

Oh Linda, I love this! How wonderful for your minister to share this truth and encourage everyone to see how it works in their lives. I love the ways Ed shows up and how he continues to guide and inspire you!! Truly one of the most influential persons you have, or ever will meet.

Yes, I agree completely--the positive energy that our beloveds supplied never dies but multiplies ten fold in the wide open \"field\" of generosity. Love lives forever and so do kind influences-like a pebble that makes many ripples in the water beyond it...

Mike was a joker, followed in his fathers footsteps. The other day I had the front door locked and bolted. All of a sudden it flew open the girls jumped I went over and closed and relocked the door. I asked if they had used the front door and it wasnt closed all the way. Each said no.. I tooked it as an anouncement Mike was home to visit....
Latter that day Alaina said she saw someone sitting on the hearth, I asked her describe who she saw. I expected it to be Mike, the way she described the person in the house it sounded more like my Dad. The twins never new their great grandfather, he passed long before they were born.
Life is always throwing something to us keeping us on our toes. It is not even Thanks giving and I have a house full LOL
Both Mike and my dad loved children, I guess Dad gave me that love of kids and I passed it down to my son. Life lessons
