Green Smiley Monday

Today, I am doing ok. Saturday was rough, Sunday was better than Saturday and today I am more peaceful. Knowing the difficult days are not the norm now is something to be grateful for. Most days are pretty peaceful now at two and a half years into missing my sweet son.
I wish all of you gentle days ahead.
Love and hugs, Linda xoxo

Thank you Linda for this journal, I\'m finding that now at one year I\'m having a little easier days than I was a few months ago. It was just as of last month that I started having some days without tears. Little by little we are healing. Sending love and tight hugs, Terry

I find this to be true, also, and feeling grateful is important. Don\'t you find your other relationships have changed?

I think this second year, for me, is very different in subtle ways. I know my daughter is with God but I miss her kooky sense of humor, just having her close enough to touch her or hug her, even her childishness (as her illness did evoke that). But I remember how sick she was, visibly sick, and tormented. I have \"good\" days but underneath is the sadness, always, and for the first time in a year I am now waking in the middle of the night from bad dreams. I, too, have very down minutes/hours, but I know from past experience they will give way and my \"up\" moods are more stable now. I am returning to myself, the person I was before all this started, and recognizing just how sick her illness made ME. I pray for you, for all of you, every day.

Linda - doing OK - some days that\'s as GOOD as it gets - and that\'s OK by me. Your generosity of spirit brings a wealth of gratitude to my heart for you\'re leading the way down this path we all walk. Love and Thankfulness...Suzzanne

Feeling the peacefulness right alongside of you dear Linda. None of us are meant to live in acute grief for a lifetime... this I know for sure. Love to you and handsome Ed. XO Joanie

I\'m glad that most days are a version of a smiley rather than a frowney at this point, Linda. Really no matter how long we have been on \"the journey\"--taking one day at a time is enough. I knew I had crossed some kind of marker when I started thinking along the lines of how much more they gained through dying than I retained through living...a total flip flop for me...I\'ve been thinking that it is a very very slow process to actually, in our souls...to say \"goodbye\" and to accept that now lifelong permanent physical separation from our child(ren). It\'s a time of great sadness...the letting go...the slipping from our grasp...the \"relinquishing to God\"-- I entered a kind of secondary numbness around that time of truly \"letting go.\" Gradually, day by day I had more of a kind of sensory reawakening until one day I realized, Hey! I can FEEL EMOTION again! Someone else\'s pain actually REGISTERS now!
Anyway, I\'m here for you if you ever need me! Hang in there! Always remember that Eddie is still alive (more than ever), still loves you (more than ever), and reunion is coming!!! Loving you and Eddie, Donna
