Green Smiley Monday

My green smiley for today is all about the retreat. If all I did was get to meet and hug all my sisters of the heart it would have been worth it but it was so much more.
The weekend started & ended with traveling woes as Ken, Sharon, (momjmc) and Sue, (Dougadoug) and I's flight was cancelled with no notice, a change of planes and a 7 hour wait etc, etc but I had great company (Sue & Sharon). It was like a metaphor for FMO. A rough journey made bearable by the sisters of the heart. Ken was outside of the airport smoking most of the day, lol & then delay after delay to get home. But we made it & the retreat was worth it.
I learned so much. The guest speaker, Rhonda, a clinician from Hospice was excellent! Knowledgeable, compassionate and a great speaker. The sharing was deep. Everyone was accepting & for me the gathering at the fire pit to remember & honor our children was healing and cathartic. All with the backdrop of beautiful harp music on CD from our own Nora.
It was a safe place to be yourself, cry without stares and judgment but there was laughter and bonding as well.
I would highly recommend the FMO retreat to anyone if it is feasable to go next year for you. I took today off from work because I wasn't sure if I would be emotionally drained but I am feeling OK.
Many thanks to the committee at FMO that made this possible. Barbara our founder, who had the vision, Ann M., Teri, Anne A., Nora, Karen, Joanie (if I forgot anyone please forgive me). They were great accomodations in a beautiful setting as all details were carefully thought out.
I thought of all of you that couldn't be there and your precious children. I value all of you and I am blessed to know you. And I got some neat signs from Ed that I will share in a journal at another time.
Love and peace, Linda
