Green Smiley Monday
Hi everyone, As most of you know my 18 year old granddaughter Christina is expecting her first child - Isabella. Her due date is 2/9/11 but Saturday we were at the hospital because while at work she began to have contractions. My green smiley is that she was not in active labor, saw her doctor today who said that the baby appears fine, but a little small as far as he can estimate from in utero. She would have been too early & we were all worried if the baby came Saturday that she would have difficulty. At the hospital the nurse explained that Christina was 35 and one half weeks along. She said they won't give meds to slow down the process at this point, but if she doesn't go into active labor its better because Isabella's lungs would not be fully developed at this point.
After 2 hours they let Christina go home cuz she wasn't in active labor or dilated & we all breathed a sigh of relief. So far so good. Everyday she stays in utero her lungs get stronger.
Thank you God! I don't want my family to go through any other heartache.
Hi Eddie,I'm so sorry you can't be here on earth for Isabella's birth, but I know you are here just the same. I love you and will look out for your family, always. xoxo Mom
