Green Smiley Monday
Happy Monday (or at least peaceful Monday, lol) to all. My green smiley today is what happened at church yesterday.
We were driving to church and Ken was sad because of the holiday approaching and was talking about his oldest son Kenny. Ken has a girl and 2 boys; the youngest being Jarrod who is 29. His older son Kenny really doesn't ever visit his Dad or call. On a rare occasion, usually after we've sent him a gift he will email me. (He lives in the next city to us). I said at least we have Adrienne & Jarrod in our life & we will never give up on Kenny as long as all of us are alive. There was no argument between Ken and his son. I've known Kenny since he was 11 & we always got along very well. As an adult I think he got very close to his mom & her side of the family, but we don't really know what's up.
So we went to church and there is a time to ask for prayers and/or to share blessings. I was a little sad over Kenny for Ken and as always fully realizing the finality of Ed's passing, but I was OK. (That's my general state at this point in my journey, lol). A woman said that she heard from her adult son who she had been estranged from via Facebook and so its a beginning. She didn't even know where he was living before the recent connection. The minister said he would like us to pray for continued reconciliation for this family. Ken nudged me cuz I think it gave him hope re: Kenny. Then the minister turned back to the woman & said, "Oh BTW, what is your son's name?" She said, "Edward." Well I think I almost fell over! God was speaking to Ken and I! I do believe there is hope for Ken & Kenny & I do have the promise of God that I WILL see my Edward again! Thank you God!!!
