Well guess what ,this NS is so stupid that he can`t or won`t listen to me at all.When I went over with my brother on November 6th I told him that I had already had to have a shunt put in my spine.Well I get his report and he is trying to make it sound like I am wanting to have a shunt put in.All I am trying to do is follow through whit what the doctors in Denver had told me.Every year I am supposed to get this shunt checked out to make sure it is not plugged up.THAT IS ALL IWANTED HIM TO DO BECAUSE I AM HAVING MORE PROBLEMS!!!!!!!!!!I never suggested that he put a shunt in because I already have one.He wrote the letter and made it sound as if I suggested it and now I am wondering how in the heck can he be in business when he WILL NOT LISTEN!!!!!!Yes I am MAD AS HELL!!!!!Also in the letter he is agian suggesting tha I go back to my doctors in Denver and have them put the shunt in.DUHHHH I don`t need one.I just don`t know what to do with this guy,I mean he has all of the sugerical reports and still he dosen`t have a clue.I can read those reports and tell what they say.I mean if I can do it don`t you think he should take the time to read those reports and be able to understand that there is a shunt in placew and that all I really need for him to do is see if the fluid is flowing like it is supposed to?????He gave me a line of CRAP about no one should have to have those shunts put in unless they are having severe problems like being paralized or not having control of there limbs.I tried to tell him that even though my syrnix was only about 4 inches long it was concidered to be to wide and it was causing my spinal cord to swell up and putting pressure on my nerves and causing me to loose fonction in my hands and legs.That is why I HAD to have the surgery,not because I wanted to.UUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I have had it maybe I should just go back to Denver,it seams like all these doctors down here care about is themselves and not the welfare of there patients.

so sorry for your problems with this clueless dr. I know it will be an a bit of an ordeal to travel to see your old dr. but that may be the best option or find another dr. My neruo surgeon is long longer practicing and it has been hard at times to know what to do when i have brain changes. The current dr. you are seeing obviously does not care about you and your needs. You deserve better treatment and care. You need to fire him because he is creating documentation that is not accurate and will take some work to correct and his paper line could casuse trouble for your Disability social security and other medical needs. You have a shunt but he is implying that you don\'t by saying you want one. He is either very clueless or not being up and up about something. I am annoyed for you. Have you called your dr in Denver and talked to him? I would call and request a phone conversation with your dr. in Denver and see what he says. Best wishes
I am begining to think that we are going to be forced to travel the 500 mile back to Denver to see my last NS that I had any kind of treatment with.The last one I saw up there wasn`t the one that did the surgery but he was from the same group of NS and at least has a working knowledge of what I have in my spinal cord.This guy in Lubbock just hasn`t got a clue and is doing more harm than good.Brendy said something about going to Albaqurque but I think we would be better off going back to Denver,if our insurance will let us that is.
I totally understand. If I am not on top of every single one of my doctors, then they NEVER get things done. It is absolutely ridiculous! Sometimes I just wanna kick em or bash their heads in--I\'m not a violent person, but I honestly think about those things. I wish you the best of luck with your so-called doctors. Keep on top of them. Call them til you are blue in the face, and they are so annoyed, that they call you just to get you to stop calling them! I know that sounds funny,but it I have found that it works wonders! *HUGS*
Also, I was forced to travel to Las Vegas from southwest, Idaho. But, thankfully, that is where I have found an NS that is willing to help me if he can. So,maybe it would be best for you to go back to Denver. Also, another idea to try before you think about doing that is to call your past doctor in Denver, and have him call your loser-NS where you are. Maybe he can talk some sense into him?!?!?
